Hi, I'm Chinaza Onyechi

I've freelanced as a photographer and videographer since 2017. What started out as a hobby turned into capturing headshots, weddings and baptisms and other events.

In 2017, inspired to give back to the community, I applied for and was awarded the TEDxPeckham Scholarship of £2,000 and mentoring to launch Daughter House (DH). DH is a collaborative creative media production initiative for black female creatives from low socio-economic backgrounds.

Through DH I help produce and/or post-produce creative projects so young black female creatives can build their portfolios, develop practical skills and gain experiences that increase their likelihood of getting employed in the unrepresentative creative industries. Daughter House also provides equipment hire services.

In 2021, I left my job in education to re-train and work full time in post production. I was awarded the first ever Dan Demissie Voices That Matter Scholarship award to attend the world renowned MetFilm School where I completed a Master's degree in Post Production.
